Second-Hand Process

Cleaning

All clothing items are subjected to a gentle and material-appropriate cleaning process. Our specialists choose the optimal method to individually refresh and refurbish each piece to bring it to an “almost new”- state.

Appearance

A “second-life” garment should not look significantly different from a new one. While it may not look “brand new,” depending on the material and wear, it does not need to. However, it saves money and is environmentally friendly. Possible signs of wear such as holes, stains, missing buttons/rivets, faded prints, and more can be professionally rectified. Only clothing items that are visually flawless after refurbishment receive our seal, ensuring they can be used without concern.

Processing

Each item is professionally inspected and rated. The extensive catalogue of checks includes the fit, seams, buttonhole positions, and missed stitches. Only items that our specialists would wear themselves receive our seal following our in-depth inspection.

Functionality

Essential prerequisites for functionality must also be met. This includes the smooth functioning of components like zippers, rivets, and buttons, as well as the verification of declared features such as water resistance, and more. We only award our seal if these expected functions are fulfilled.

Condition

Each piece of clothing is carefully examined to ensure it meets the expected characteristics. This includes elasticity and wrinkling behaviour, tear resistance, seam strength, and other features that are fundamental for further use in the “second life.”

Alle Kleidungsstücke werden grundsätzlich einem schonenden und auf das Material abgestimmtem Reinigungsprozess unterzogen. Hierfür wählen unsere Spezialisten das optimale Verfahren aus, um einen Artikel in einen weitestgehend neuwertigen Zustand zu bringen – nur einwandfreie Teile bekommen unser Siegel.

Ein „second-life“ Kleidungsstück soll einem neuen Bekleidungsteil optisch nicht viel nachstehen. Sicherlich wird es, je nach Material und Tragedauer des Teiles, nicht immer wie „brandneu“ aussehen – das muss es aber auch nicht. Dafür aber schont es Geldbeutel und Umwelt. Mögliche Gebrauchsspuren wie z.B. Löcher, Flecken, fehlende Knöpfe /Nieten, verblasste Drucke usw. können fachgerecht behoben werden. Nur optisch einwandfreie Bekleidungsteile nach unserem Re-Finishing bekommen unser Siegel.

Jedes Teil wird einer konfektionstechnischen Überprüfung unterzogen. Passform, Nahtverläufe, Knopflochpositionen oder Fehlstiche– auch hier ist der Katalog an möglichen Prüfungen sehr gross. Nur Teile, die unsere Spezialisten auch selbst tragen würden, bekommen nach unserer eingehenden Prüfung das Siegel.

Auch im Bereich der Funktionalität müssen wesentliche Grundvoraussetzungen erfüllt sein. Dazu gehören unter anderem die einwandfreie Funktion von Zutaten wie Reißverschlüssen, Nieten und Knöpfen, aber auch die Überprüfung von ausgelobten Funktionen wie zum Beispiel Wasserabweisung, etc. Nur bei Erfüllung dieser Erwartungen erhalten die Bekleidungsteile unser Siegel und garantieren einen bedenkenlosen Einsatz.

Jedes Kleidungsstück wird sorgfältig dahingehend überprüft, ob die erwarteten Eigenschaften erfüllt werden. Dazu zählen z.B. Elastizitäts- und Knitterverhalten, Reißfestigkeiten, Nahtfestigkeiten usw., also alle Merkmale, die für den weiteren Einsatz im „second-life“ eine Grundvoraussetzung darstellen.
